Lot Description

1652 Massachusetts Bay Colony Pine Tree Threepence. Noe-35, W-635. Rarity-6. Pellets at Trunk. VF-25 (PCGS). 17.0 grains. Attractive gunmetal-gray toning throughout on this rare coin. The surfaces have a few bumps and bends, as these were made of course, thus the wear is often a bit uneven. Two small punch marks on the reverse, one touching the 1 of the date, the other left of the denomination. Struck a bit off center as commonly seen, but most of the legends are intact and legible. Rare in all grades, this particular coin shows excellent color, average surfaces and reasonably good eye appeal.
