The POP TOP, one of the FINEST Proof 1874 three cent nickels in any designation. Highly reflective, brilliant mirrored surfaces have a bold flash. Draped in multicolored toning on both sides, the eye appeal is fresh and original; truly sensational in every regard. Only 700 Proofs were struck. PCGS 6, NGC 2, CAC 4. This is the FINEST in the designation to ever be graded by PCGS, and tied with just a single NGC coin. Neither have sold in auction. Nicer than the PR67 CAC that we sold in March 2020 for $3,760. Not priced by Collectors Universe in this lofty state of preservation, we expect this exquisite SUPERB GEM to bring a bid well in excess of the PR67 CAC CPG value of $4,880.
