1870 Pattern Quarter. Judd-909, Pollock-997. Rarity-7. Proof-62 RB (PCGS). Toned with a mix of greenish-copper and faded red to brown on the obverse and reverse, somewhat mottled in organization. The obverse has a bust of Liberty facing right, wearing a cap three stars and a ribbon on her shoulder inscribed LIBERTY. Surrounded by UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above and a banner with IN GOD WE TRUST below. On the reverse an intricate open wreath of laurel and oak is found within reads 25 CENTS, with STANDARD SILVER above and the date below. Rare in all grades with a mere six examples certified between both major services. Struck in copper with a plain edge.
