Lot 148 1814 S-294 R1 Crosslet 4. PCGS graded MS-65+ Brown.Lustrous mix of golden tan, rose, and bluish steel brown. Very faded mint color shows on both sides and this cent is nearly flawless. Satiny mint frost covers this cent, even the highest points of the devices, and the eye appeal is superb. The best identifying marks are a trio of tiny golden tan spots under the E in STATES. LDS, Breen state II, with flowlines connecting stars 8-13 to the dentils and a raised ridge at the dentil tips over TES-OF-A. Graded MS65 Choice and tied for CC#1 honors in the Noyes census, his photo #20150. Bland says MS64 and alone as CC#1. Our grade is MS64+. A fabulous cent that comes with a nice provenance.
