- 1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. BB-27, B-5. Rarity-1. Three Leaves. VG-10 (NGC). CAC.
Pewter-gray surfaces deepen slightly toward the borders and are overall smooth in outward appearance, especially on the obverse, with all devices boldly outlined. A few faint, wispy handling marks in the center of the reverse are mentioned solely for accuracy. A rather wholesome example of this scarce type issue. The surfaces are pleasing for a coin that displays this much time in circulation, but the important devices are all present on both the obverse and reverse. All early Flowing Hair dollars are scarce when found certified, and demand has long exceeded supply of this first style of silver dollar made for circulation.
Provenance: From the Michael Mann Type Collection.
PCGS# 6852. NGC ID: 24WZ.
