Lot Description
1912 Lincoln Cent. Proof-64 RD (NGC). CAC. Uncommonly vibrant for an early Matte Proof Lincoln cent, this captivating near-Gem exhibits a bright, satiny finish with uniformly fine granularity to the texture. Fully struck, as befits the method of manufacture, the broad, squared-off lettering to the denomination ONE CENT on the reverse is on its own enough to confirm this piece as a Proof striking of the date. Attractively original, and free of singularly mentionable distractions -- early Proof Lincoln cents with any sizeable amount of mint orange are scarcer than the typical BN specimen. One of 2,172 Proofs of the date produced.
