1865 Two-Cent Piece. Proof-64 RD Cameo (PCGS). CAC. These early two-cent pieces are quite rare with Cameo contrast, first off they have to retain the original Red color designation, of which just a small percentage of the Proof survivors managed to do, then the fields have to show a high depth of contrast with the frosted devices, usually seen on the early strikes when the dies had just been polished. Rich in color and high in quality, and a condition rarity for the specialist. Identifiable by one old speck below the E of CENT, little diminishing this visual treat.
