Lot Description

Lovely light olive iridescence on frosty surfaces that show excellent silvering. Faint planchet drift marks in the centers and at upper left obverse are as made and mentioned solely for accuracy. The centering is a bit off, lower right obverse and upper right reverse borders into the peripheral letters, but otherwise we note bold to sharp detail throughout the design. About as nice as this type comes, and of further desirability given the extreme rarity (as published) of this Vlack number, identifiable by a large stop in place of the pomegranate in the obverse legend, after the date. The Generation 3.1 PCGS insert incorrectly attributes this coin as a 15 deniers.
