N-3. Easily identifiable by the repunched 8 in the date. Here is a very pleasing example, truly a borderline GEM, displaying generally smooth surfaces and no distracting marks or spots (unlike others we have seen). N-3 is often weakly struck, but the presently offered piece has a bolder definition than others that have sold, including the recently sold Newcomb-Starr-Chalkley-BullowaMoore coin. Not a scarce variety overall, but popular and not often seen in this grade. PCGS 24, NGC 21, CAC 9. This is the SOLE MS64+ BN graded at either service. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $2,650.
