1871 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Proof-64 (NGC). A boldly toned specimen with the most vivid colors appreciable with the aid of direct lighting. Sharply struck throughout. More challenging to locate than later date Proof Liberty Seated half dollars from the 1879 to 1891 era, the 1871 is surprisingly scarce in today's market for an issue with a generous mintage of 960 pieces.
