1853-DERI Octagonal $1. BG-514. Rarity-5+. Liberty Head. MS-64 (PCGS). Reeded edge. Deep honey-gold surfaces exhibit warm olive toning, lively luster, and no marks of major consequence. From the firm of M. Deriberpie, active in California 1852-1854 or so. Die State II: "Obverse vertical crack down from truncation through first star." An altogether pleasing example of the famous DERI dollar type.
