Lot 424 1855 N-4 R1 Upright 55 PCGS graded MS64 RED.Bright original mint red starting to mellow to light steel brown on the reverse with 98% of the obverse and 65% of the reverse showing original mint color. No spots and the only notable marks are two very light diagonal nicks in the field below the chin. EDS, die state a, before any die cracks or rim cuds. Most likely from the hoard of early state examples but this is one of the nicer ones. A great type or date coin. Our grade is MS64+.The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 5 finer: 2 in 65, 1 in 65+, 1 in 66, 1 in 66+.
