Exquisite champagne-apricot and pale lilac iridescence envelops virtually pristine surfaces. Design elements are fully struck and satiny in texture, and they contrast nicely with reflective fields. Of this issue Q. David Bowers writes in his 2006 <em>Guide Book of Shield and Liberty Head Nickels</em>, "Proofs are somewhat scarce and are usually very attractive." The offered specimen exceeds these comments, as it is undeniably rare from a condition standpoint and far more attractive that the typical Proof Liberty Head nickel of <em>any</em> date that we offer in a given year of numismatic auction sales.
