This popular variety was created when a leftover reverse die from Carson City was shipped to New Orleans and repurposed, the O mintmark punched over a partially effaced CC. A popular, Red Book variety, the over mintmark feature is visible to the unaided eye. Choice Mint State quality, the luster is brilliant, accenting a gentle dusting of gold. The eye appeal is pleasing. PCGS 2089, NGC 863. The most recent examples sold in the $900 to $1,140 range and the current Collectors Universe value is listed at $1,350.
