Lot Description
Browning-8 is one of three die-marriages with the obverse die that has three closely spaced dentils beneath the first "1", the first star pointing a bit below the "V" of the bust drapery, and the second "8" centered beneath the curl. The reverse may be identified by the ends of the scroll, with the left edge not quite reaching the left edge of "D" above, and the right edge centered between the gaps of "A". A smoothly worn and attractive example, the reverse actually retains considerable luster for only the VF-30 grade, and traces of mint frost still remain on the obverse, stubbornly clinging to many of the devices.
