Lot Description

1787 Nova Eborac Copper. W-5750. Large Head. VF-20 (PCGS). 138.0 grains. Dark olive brown and steel with light even granularity. Good detail, ideal centering, all legends complete, date nice and bold. The dies have started to sink in below EBORAC, manifesting as a bulge in the right obverse field. No major problems aside from the unsmooth surfaces, just a few scattered microscopic pits and some hints of verdigris here and there. A scarce type coin, one that typically appears in circulated grades and with some kind of surface problem. PCGS# 484. Provenance: From the John "Jack" Royse Collection.
