Lot Description

1901-O Barber Quarter. MS-64 (PCGS). Lustrous satin surfaces are lightly toned in iridescent pinkish-silver. The strike is impressive by the standards of the issuing Mint with razor sharp detail to virtually all design elements. Although overshadowed by the 1901-S, the New Orleans Mint's 1901 issue is scarce in its own right. The mintage of 1,612,000 pieces circulated heavily and Mint State survivors are elusive in all grades. Provenance: From the Larry H. Miller Collection. PCGS Population: 14; 12 finer (MS-67 finest).
