1840 Braided Hair Cent. N-5. Rarity-1. Large Date. MS-64 BN (PCGS). CAC. A subtle marbling of rich chocolate-brown color paints this superior Choice specimen. The smooth surfaces border on Gem in many respects and exhibit just the most negligible imperfections beneath a glass. An old mark above the I in UNITED has long mellowed into the overall complexion. The dies are moderately fatigued, displaying flowlines and rim crumbling associated with Noyes Die State C/B. Lustrous and attractive to examine in-hand. Provenance: From the Paradise Collection.
