Lot Description

Richly toned in dominant steel-olive and deep pewter gray, both sides reveal mottled undertones of iridescent blue, gold and pink as the surfaces dip into a light. Really an engaging piece, and also a technically superior one with full striking detail, an intense Proof finish, and expert surface preservation. This later issue Barber half dollar is one of only 543 pieces produced in Proof, and this example is much finer than most pieces extant today. An opportunity for the astute numismatist to acquire a simply fantastic coin.
