Lot Description

Tompkins Die Stage 4/4, Rea et al. Die State c. With warm, medium coin gray patina to surfaces that retain bold outline definition to all major design elements. Although difficult to discern because of the coin's heavy wear, the reverse die crack at lower right can just barely be made out between the arrow shafts and in the field before the eagle's left talon.<p><strong>Steve M. Tompkins Commentary:</strong> I purchased this coin because it showed the clashed leaves at stars 6 and 7. It became a low grade duplicate when I purchased the Hamilton coin in the preceding lot.
