Lot Description

1896-S Barber Half Dollar. MS-63 (PCGS). Boldly struck with handsome original toning that blankets the surfaces on both sides. The 1896-S is truly elusive in Mint State. Uncirculated survivors can be accounted for in terms of dozens rather than hundreds. Evidently few collectors thought to save examples at the time of issue, and as a consequence, quality examples always command high premiums. PCGS# 6476. NGC ID: 24LX.
