Lot Description

1827 Capped Bust Dime. JR-4. Rarity-2. Pointed Top 1. MS-64 (NGC). Soft silver-gray patina with a tinge of sandy-gold tinting intermingled toward the borders. A prooflike finish is readily evident as the surfaces rotate under a light, but not even closer inspection reveals a significant abrasion. A few of the stars are softly impressed, as are the eagle's talons on the reverse, but otherwise we note bold definition to the devices. Conditionally scarce for the type, issue and individual die pairing.
