Lot Description

1839-C Classic Quarter Eagle. Winter Variety 3 (3-C). Repunched Date. EF-40 (PCGS). Lovely, rich peach-golden and sky-blue toning. A die break shows from the rim to the E in STATES. Demonstrably well struck with excellent details remaining on both sides and the date and prominently placed mintmark are sharp. As in most 1839 quarter eagles, there is clear recutting at the date.
