Lot Description
1793 Liberty Cap Half Cent. Head Left. C-4. Rarity-3. VG-8 BN (NGC). CAC. A handsome and inviting coin for the assigned grade, it is difficult for us to imagine a more desirable 1793 half cent at the VG level. Warmly patinated golden-brown surfaces with glints of light charcoal-russet in the protected areas around and among some of the design elements. The latter is generally associated with ancient, inactive surface build up -- completely forgivable at this grade level. Also easily forgiven are a few small, well scattered handling marks, the in hand appearance quite smooth overall. With all devices identifiable, if not boldly outlined, this is an outstanding circulated type candidate from the only date in the Head Left portion of the Liberty Cap half cent series. PCGS# 1000.
