Lot Description

A very scarce Rarity-4 die marriage, this O-107 is just below the Condition Census. The strike is crisp and bold on both sides, even on the reverse which was shattered with extensive die cracks seen. A rich underlying luster glows from below an antique silver with accents of pale champagne-gold and pastel lilac hues. Totally original and very eye appealing, this coin is truly a delight to behold for the advanced collector of Capped Bust half dollar die marriages. PCGS 44, NGC 50 (all varieties), CAC 6. A non-CAC example of this variety sold in the 2016 ANA auction for $5,288. This is a scarce die marriage so you can skip over the published levels which are for generic die pairs.
