Lot Description

1848 Liberty Seated Quarter. Briggs 1-A. Repunched Date. AU-53 (PCGS). CAC. A scarce repunched date variety and especially so this well preserved. Residual luster remains in the fields and the toning is outstanding with a blend of gunmetal-blue and gray with russet to crimson around the rims. The date is repunched to the east and while not deeply repunched, it is quite dramatic and well off from the final placement. PCGS# 5412.
