THE ED WIELAWSKI OREGON COLLECTION Only 6,006 examples were struck and this is one of the HIGHEST GRADED 38-S Oregon Trail halves seen by either service. The technical quality and visual allure are both sublime! Exceptionally sharp in strike and definition on both sides. The surfaces have a wonderful frosty, satin sheen that glows boldly on both sides, accenting the golden-olive patina that graces the lustrous surfaces and gives depth to the strike. The eye appeal is unmarred by serious contact, we really do not see what CAC saw that precluded approval. Regardless, this coin is exceptional quality! PCGS 22, NGC 35. The last two examples realized $5,288 in our October 2021 and October 2020 auctions. No doubt this lovely SUPERB GEM will bring close to the PCGS Price Guide value of $5,750.
