1847-D Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. Winter 9-N, the only known dies. EF-45 (NGC). CAC. A second premium Choice EF 1847-D $2.50 from this remarkable Southern gold cabinet. Bathed in deep honey-gold color, both sides are enhanced by pinkish-rose overtones that are most pronounced in the open field areas. Plenty of bold to sharp striking detail remains from a well executed strike, and there is also appreciable luster to confirm the assigned grade.
