Lot Description

1722 Rosa Americana Penny. Martin 2.1-A.1, W-1256. Rarity-5. VTILE DVLCI. VF-20 (NGC). Olive-gold surfaces exhibit crusty deep brown detritus throughout, particularly in the recessed areas. Evenly circulated but not noticeably marked to the unaided eye. The rare variety with the VTILE DVLCI spelling rather than the usual UTILE DULCI style. Perhaps just a dozen or so examples are known today in all grades. A nice opportunity for an advanced colonial type set. PCGS# 98.
