- 1903-S Barber Half Dollar. MS-64 (NGC).
Lovely mint frost blankets both sides, with the mostly brilliant surfaces enhanced by blushes of iridescent champagne-gold toning. The eye appeal is strong in all regards. Otherwise sharply defined, the strike came up a bit short in the center of the reverse, where close inspection with a loupe reveals light planchet roller marks (as made) within the eagle's plumage and shield. Free of significant marks, this is a scarce and appealing Choice Mint State example of an issue that ranks among the rarer 20th century Barber half dollars in high grades.
Provenance: From the Larry H. Miller Collection.
NGC Census: 26; 6 finer (MS-66 finest).
PCGS# 6497. NGC ID: 24ML.
