Lot Description

1844 Liberty Seated Quarter. Briggs 2-B. Repunched Date. MS-62 (NGC). All four numerals in the date have been repunched. This issue is normally encountered in circulated condition, and Mint State specimens are scarce. To date, just six pieces have been rated at MS-62 by NGC, with 18 finer. This example shows a complete layer of champagne-gray toning across each side. The motifs are sharply struck and the surfaces only show minor marks. Census: 6; 18 finer. PCGS# 5406.
