Lot Description
Wow! What a stunning, SUPERB Cameo Proof Seated Liberty quarter. Totally untoned, the mirrors are ultra deep, offer the utmost clarity, and are extremely reflective. The fully struck design elements have a thick, white frost that really stands in contrast to the sleek, smooth mirrored fields. The surfaces are as bright and brilliant as the day it came from the dies. The eye appeal is AMAZING and this is one of the finer known 1882 Proof quarters graded in the CAM designation. PCGS 22, NGC 10, CAC 14. There are 6 in PR66+ CAM. The most recent example to sell in auction realized $3,525 in March 2015--that is a long time ago. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $3,750. Seems cheap to us--especially since none have sold in over four years. Just four have received higher grades in the CAM designation, and the only one of those to sell in the last six years is the PR68 CAM that sold in October 2016 for $19,388. This coin is high end and should bring a serious bid! Cert. Number 16471267 PCGS # 85583
