1871 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Proof-65 (PCGS). CAC. OGH--First Generation. Richly toned in deep olive-blue and copper-rose, the obverse contrasts with a reverse dressed in mottled sandy-silver and copper-russet. Both sides are fully struck and reveal decided cameo contrast between the fields and devices as the surfaces dip into a light. Beautiful and conditionally scarce Gem preservation from a mintage of 960 Proof half dollars of this date. Provenance: From the E. Horatio Morgan Collection.
