Lot Description

1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 37.12-LL, W-4175. Rarity-6. Draped Bust Left, ET IIB. AU-50 (PCGS). 135.5 grains. Deep golden tan surfaces exhibit rose-brown highlights. Central obverse roughness, as struck, fissure from rim horizontally through punctuation to top of head, reverse rim through bottom of date, weak at upper right, scattered central ticks, as struck, faint toned-over scratch from N to Liberty's waist. Sharpness coordinates nicely with given grade. A reasonably choice example of an elusive variety. PCGS# 394. Provenance: From our sale of Collection SLT, January 2012, lot 7377.
