Lot Description

1795 Liberty Cap Half Cent. C-1, B-1. Rarity-2. Manley Die State 2.0. Lettered Edge--End of Strip Planchet Clip--AU-55 (PCGS). The ragged planchet clip is fairly sizeable and located in the 11 o'clock position on the obverse, although it does not really affect any of the devices on either side of the coin. Both sides, in fact, are sharply defined in the presence of only light wear. Handsome reddish-brown patina to most areas, a swath of slightly deeper toning borders the clip on the obverse. Otherwise fairly smooth, a few minor abrasions to Liberty's neck are noted for accuracy.
