FROM THE YOUNG-DAKOTA COLLECTION What a marvelous GEM Proof example! Wonderfully reflective mirrored fields are very high end. Beaming and flashy, they are clean and free of any distracting marks or lines anywhere. Boldly impressed devices show a moderate frost that is just shy of imparting full cameo contrast. Iridescent toning in rainbow shades are dappled along the peripheral details attesting to the original surfaces and adding to the eye appeal. Only 675 Proofs were struck. PCGS 23, NGC 34, CAC 10. There has not been a PCGS/CAC example sold in auction for over a DECADE, last selling for $5,463 in March 2009! The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $3,250, but clearly with the lack of CAC-approved examples appearing on the market, this one will sell for more.
