1903 Liberty Head Eagle. Proof-55 (PCGS). Bright mint reflectivity shines forth powerfully from the peripheries of the obverse and half of the reverse fields on this late date Proof issue in the long-running Liberty Head Eagle series. The obverse shows minor handling marks and light circulation, though the reverse almost appears uncirculated at first glance. The Proof mintage for the date was a mere 96 pieces making any survivor a desirable coin, and for the budget-minded collector desiring Proof gold, this coin certainly fits the bill. PCGS# 8843.
