- Lot Description
- 1795 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar. BB-21, B-1. Rarity-2. Two Leaves. VF-25 (PCGS).
A pleasingly smooth VF example with no sizeable handling marks and only a few faint adjustment marks (as made) at the upper right reverse border at and after the word OF. Mottled pewter and russet patina on both sides, the reverse with a swirl of steel-gray at the eagle's right wing. BB-1 is the most readily obtainable die marriage of the Two Leaves Guide Bookvariety of the 1795 Flowing Hair, the issue as a whole immensely popular for type purposes given the rarity of the first year 1794 silver dollar.
Provenance: From the Legacy Collection. Earlier from Heritage's Long Beach Signature Auction of September 2005, lot3639.
PCGS# 6853. NGC ID: 24WZ.
