Lot Description
An amazing and eye appealing SUPERB GEM 1900 Proof half! This snazzy, borderline PR67 screams with awesome colors! PCGS showed no mercy here. Boldly contrasted fields and reliefs are covered by a blanket of rich iridescent toning from years of storage in the original mint holder. Deep, glittering mirrors are incredibly clean, clear, and boldly reflective. A small planchet flake on the neck is what we believe is holding this piece back from a loftier grade. The surfaces are evenly covered by an original olive/forest green/gold/reddish gold/blue/purple/magenta mix. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frosted and sharply struck. About as pleasing and original a piece you can hope to see--the eye appeal is outstanding! Only 912 Proofs were minted. PCGS 20, NGC 25, CAC 20. There are 7 coins graded PR66+ CAM, and only 8 are graded higher in the CAMEO designation at PCGS. The current PCGS value is listed at $5,250, and this coin at one time sold for $7,050. It is extremely high end and should sell for a very strong premium bid when it crosses the block. Keep in mind a PR67 CAM CAC will cost five figures! Add this SUPERB coin to your collection. Cert.
