FROM THE TRZASKA COLLECTION Among the FINEST KNOWN 1890 Proof nickels, this remarkable coin brought a world record price in our December 2015 Regency Auction, where it was described as: "Sparkling white frost announces each device loudly, while the mirror fields fall away in icy perfection. The surfaces are virtually flawless, and close scrutiny finds little more than a few short lint marks from tiny threads that adhered to the dies when these initial Proof coins were struck. Only 2,740 pieces were struck in Proof, and this is one of the two finest known pieces certified by PCGS with the Deep Cameo designation. It would be hard to imagine any finer example to come from these dies." PCGS 2, NGC 0, CAC 2.
