1899-S Barber Quarter. MS-64 (NGC). Pretty silver-apricot iridescence drifts over both sides of this smartly impressed, satin textured example. A light reeding mark on Liberty's cheek is all that seems to preclude a full Gem rating. A key date Barber quarter in the finer circulated and Mint State grades, the 1899-S has a limited mintage of 708,000 pieces and suffered a high rate of attrition through circulation. This attractive near-Gem numbers among the finest certified and would make an impressive addition to an advanced collection. PCGS# 5624. NGC ID: 23YJ. NGC Census: 5; 15 finer (MS-67 finest).
