Lot Description
1854 Round 50 Cents. BG-436. Rarity-6. Liberty Head, "Humbert" Eagle Reverse. MS-61 (PCGS). Vivid satin, honey rose surfaces support striking detail that is impressively sharp throughout the design. Another of the popular and exciting rarities in this series. Despite being revised to Rarity-6 (formerly Rarity7- in the Texas Collection, 1992), BG-436 is still a highly sought-after variety, an individual type within the fascinating series, and always in demand as such. Rarity-6 is still rare, of course, and BG-436 is not becoming any more common. As a solidly graded and attractive Mint State example of the important "Humbert" Eagle Without Scroll variety, this highlight from the Oregon Collection is sure to find its way to another advanced cabinet. Provenance: From the Oregon Collection.
