This is the third finest graded at PCGS. A radiant borderline GEM that is extremely RARE in such a lofty grade. Frosty luster glows in the generally clean fields accenting the boldly struck up devices. Rich golden-orange toning has accents of deeper red, violet, and olive-russet. There are a few tiny marks that help identify this near GEM as the former Gardner coin. The luster is intense on both sides with bold swirling cartwheels that impart a superb eye appeal. PCGS 1, NGC 2. There are just two coins finer. In 64+ the Collectors Universe value is listed at $11,500. The MS65 example has never sold in auction and the finest is a PCGS MS66 that sold in April 2014 for $32,900.
