Lot Description

Warmly toned surfaces exhibit apricot-gray iridescence on the obverse, a bolder blend of apricot-gray and olive on the reverse. Both sides are lustrous in a frosty finish and deliver razor sharp striking detail throughout the design. A generous mintage of 2,020,000 pieces conceals the conditionally challenging nature of this early New Orleans Mint issue. Gerry Fortin (<em>seateddimevarieties.com</em>) assigns a Rarity-6+ ranking to Mint State examples of the Medium O variety. The desirability of this near-Gem Mint State coin can hardly be overstated.
