- Lot Description
- Out of this world quality for this very scarce first year of issue. Prohibitively rare so fine, this is truly a magnificent 13-D Type 2. Superb quality is easily seen on both sides. Gorgeous golden color goes from pale to deep orange-amber in hue. Hints of pale green mingle with the warm golds and nickel-silver luster flashes from the wonderfully preserved surfaces. The classic Indian Head and Buffalo motifs are smartly impressed from a forceful blow from the dies. The eye appeal is exceptional! PCGS 19, NGC 7, CAC 5. Back in March 2007, this coin sold for $17,250. More recently, examples have sold between $14,100 and $17,625. The current PCGS Price Guide value is $17,500. Just two are finer at PCGS both in MS67+ and none have ever sold in auction. This impressive beauty should see a stampede of bidders vying to buy this super example. Cert. Number 50047347 PCGS # 3922.00
