Lot Description

Really a lovely example of this scarcer circulation strike Braided Hair half cent. The strike is full with all features crisp and there is very little wear. Hard and satiny in texture with a very smooth appearance for an issue that is often found with numerous Mint-made depressions. Only one is seen here, at the reverse border between the words UNITED and STATES, and it is definitely the result of foreign matter adhering to the die. (We offered another example in PCGS/CAC AU-58 as lot 6015 in our Winter 2022 Auction that showed this same depression, in the same area.) Warmly and evenly toned with abundant eye appeal.
