1861 Liberty Seated Silver Dollar. Proof-63 (PCGS). Wonderfully original, surfaces are dressed in charcoal-blue and golden-apricot patina, the colors deepening toward the rims. Fully struck throughout with appreciable reflectivity evident in the fields as the coin dips into a light. From a mintage of 1,000 Proof silver dollars for the date, many of which were likely released into commerce in later years when they failed to sell to contemporary collectors. PCGS# 7004.
