1795 Washington Grate Halfpenny. Baker-29D, W-10950. Rarity-3. Small Buttons. Reeded Edge. AU-55 (PCGS). 141.7 grains. Deep chocolate-brown surfaces are devoid of any marks that readily greet the unassisted eye, though low magnification reveals an arced scratch across Washington's nose area. The British Conder token series is rife with tributes to Washington, with the present variety, D&H-284, Middlesex, among the most popular of all.
