Lot Description: 1866 Indian Cent. Proof-64 RD Cameo (PCGS). This smartly impressed example reveals appreciable field to device contrast as the surfaces dip into a light. Both sides exhibit streaks and blushes of copper-russet patina, the color boldest at the left reverse border. This coin obvious toned while in the holder, and after PCGS assigned the full Red designation. Considerable faded orange color remains, however, while a few carbon spots along the left obverse and reverse borders are also noted for accuracy. Provenance: From the Gorton Collection.
