Lot Description

1872 Pattern Three-Cent Piece. Judd-1185, Pollock-1325. Rarity-7+. Proof-62 RB (PCGS). 1871 Pattern Half Dollar. Judd-1112, Pollock-1248. Rarity-7-. Proof-64 RD Cameo (NGC). Copper. Plain Edge. Light reddish-copper with a few traces of toning on both sides, with moderate hairlines over the mirror fields. Sharply struck throughout. This pattern issue was struck from the regular dies of the Three Cent nickel pieces, but in copper in this instance. Quite rare with perhaps 4 known today.
